I just finished watching this special on the making of 'Star Wars', and it was really neat because they interviewed everybody from George Lucas, to Harrison Ford. There was a brief mention towards the end of the (ugh) new trilogy George made when Megan and I started talking about the multitude of reasons that made the 'Phantom trilogy' so crappy, especially the introduction of 'midichlorines' and how it's the result of George Lucas bowing down to the christian regime of hatred and intolerance. Let me explain.
Crazy christians like jerry falwel didn't like the original trilogy because of 'The Force' and how it was perceived as a religous element contrary to christianity (ie. it was pagan), but thanks to 'midichlorines' the Force has been reduced to a biological odditty that the christian god can now be credited to bestowing upon his children (puke). And that's the problem with christianity, if a concept cannot be absorbed into the malignant puss bubble of christian dogma, then they perceive it as a threat and must attack it. How can christianity be considered a good thing? Honestly.
